How SMARTCORE Induction Technology works Iluma is the first IQOS generation that heats tobacco without a blade. Every Terea stick contains a tiny steel heating element — the SMARTCORE — and Iluma's chamber induction-heats it from the outside without touching the tobacco directly. No blade to snap, no chamber to scrape, no cleaning ritual between sticks. The tobacco is heated, not burnt: aerosol, not smoke. Each Terea stick lasts around six minutes or fourteen puffs, then the device shuts down on its own.

Session flow Charge the device via USB-C from any phone-standard source. Slide the sleeve down, insert a Terea stick, the device auto-detects and starts heating. Gentle vibration when it's ready. Take your session. Two vibrations = session over. Slide the sleeve back up and you're ready for the next one. Do that up to 20 times before you need to plug back in.
